Your Cooperation is Greatly Appreciated

Some people blog about the latest trends in their industry. Others, about the latest trendy animal in all its internet video fame. Others still, about trendy non-trendy indie music. Apparently I blog about my teeth. I was hoping I’d have more adventurous, hilarious, and all-around scandalous things to talk about, but alas. I’m old, don’t live life in Dallas like I do when in other cities (and my travel has been limited lately), and I don’t have a cat, turtle, dolphin, or food fetish. At least not that I'll admit to publicly.

So good news! My teeth are totally moving! And moving very fast, like, they move into alignment in a matter of hours post-dentist visit and the firm tightening of the wire. This means soon this blog will just be me saying hi every now and then since, well, I won’t have dental updates for you. Thank. God.

The fact that my bottom tooth, the one that got away while I wasn’t wearing my retainer (that’s a whole other post, summed up by “Four years in college drinking five nights a week and sleeping not in my own home leads to not wearing retainer) moved back in to place literally in four (4!) hours blows my mind. I'm sure my talking about this is blowing your mind, if not making you mildly uncomfortable. I apologize. Continuing on, the dentist stuck a wire on the little sucker, I left the office groaning in pain at 8:30 one morning, got to work, popped advil, left for lunch at noon, looked in the mirror and was like "Holy freaking awesome tooth movement, Batman!” I don’t know how far it was in dentistry measurement terms, but this tooth is basically the entire reason I went back to braces and 7th grade. And it moved in four fucking hours into its original little space, all lined up neat like it had never left. No wonder if felt like my tooth was being ripped out all morning. It was.

I’ll take it. Thank you, teeth, for hearing my prayers, taking my pep-talks to heart, and in general for your overall cooperation.
