In the beginning of January I wrote off a few artists from my usual playlist and with that resolution, picked up the blogging habit. Well, this month one of those off-limit artists put out a new album. That day was, at least in my head, the date I had to hold off listening to them until. So, their new album came out in mid-May, completing one resolution, and the blogging, which had been going strong until this month, also came to a grinding halt, possibly completing another resolution.
But today, thanks to the little elves on the company server, I took a listen to the new album and decided I just wasn't all that into my (once?) favorite band anymore. Which makes me sad. It's almost like I think I'm going to start listening to them and then go back to that place I was at in December 2009, like a bad drug habit that I just can't kick. Of course, having never used drugs (real scary ones anyhow) and only being reminded time and again by my mom of the alcoholics in our family (four years of binge drinking does not an alcoholic make - that's called a college student), I am paranoid of having any sort of addiction. Needless to say, in December 2009, I was in a totally fine place, nothing was wrong, life was dandy. I'm just...not that into these guys right now. I'm sure, just like my other fave bands - My Morning Jacket, Aerosmith, um, Third Eye Blind, I'll come back to them. Just not right now.
So if they're still on hiatus, then this blog is still going.
And what better way to celebrate a much-needed blog post than with a cathartic BACHELORETTE post!!!1! Hellz yes.
Yes, Monday nights are back. As are Chris Harrison, all the right reasons, the wine, the frozen entree, the salad, THE GIRARDS!, and of course, The Bert.
Is it sad when you measure life in seasons of the Bachelor, not years? I think not.
