So What's the Retirement Age?

There is really nothing out of the ordinary about staying home, making dinner with your significant other, throwing back a few drinks and playing a mean game of Scrabble while wearing cozy flannel pants. There is, however, something to be said for doing it on the biggest party night of the year. Three words: We got balls. Hold on, wait. BALLZ.

Take that, overhyped holiday. Boo. Ya. That's right, no parties, no bars, no see-and-be-seen events, no drunk cab rides home which cause you to lose your phone, no group countdowns hosted by a retired (meaning 35 year old) MTV VJ in New York City.

Half-way through the evening, we even took a little nap! Not from the booze, but because we were just so worn out by the evening thus far. We woke up rejuvinated and rested, in time to - wait for it - make s'mores. Oh, don't be jealous.

Finally, on my least-favorite holiday of the year, I had a really good time. Good God I'm old.

Remote. iPhone. Flannel. Champagne. Done.

Now, on to 2011. Rezo #1: Stay up late enough to miss the seniors early-bird dinner at Luby's.

  1. There's an awful lot of "we" in this post. We're fine with it. Looks about as comfy as can be. Off to a great start.
